ART FOR CHARITY
Painted Ornaments, Paper Art and much more...
Art for charity...what a great concept! Many thanks to all of you for coming to the studio to make arts and crafts so that the proceeds of the sales can help charitable organizations. In the last 2 years you've helped me support Cheryl Poulin's fundraising events to help youths affected by mental illness. All of the ornaments and other craft projects are collected and then sold at art shows and in various hospitals in the Ottawa area. The money is raised for PARENTS' LIFELINES OF EASTERN ONTARIO for their youth drop-in center known as The Source. The money goes toward providing recreation and socialization for 16 to 25 year olds living with mental illness. To date our group and other generous sources have helped to raise about $3,500. Cheryl's goal this year (2010) is to raise $5,000. And again I have pledged to help out.
Here's what we did last year.

This is just one of many boxes of folded paper ornaments we've shipped so far this year! Seventy-five ornaments and blank photo journals!Plus there were 7 sets of beautiful woven placemats.
If you'd like to come by the studio to help with the next project or you'd like to help in any other way
drop me a line here.
Cheryl has also launched an
Artist Trading Card contest.
And she's putting the finishing touches on a Doodle Contest too! All in an effort to reach her goal.
Cheryl and I join in thanking all of you for your contributions. You're enhancing young people's lives and making a powerful impact on their families.
Let's go from art for charity to the Home page.
